a quote from Ken Blanchard: There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.

There’s a difference between interest and commitment…

I know it’s cold
I know it’s dark
I know it’s Monday.
I know the house is warm
I know the sofa is comfortable
I know the tv is inviting.
I know those doughnuts are sweet
I know the pizza is tasty
I know that beer is refreshing.
I know.

What’s more, is that I know that if you resisted such temptations,
if you said NO to the easy path,
if you did the things you know you SHOULD do before the things you WANT to do,
if you finished your chores, refused a cigarette, completed that project, ate. your. salad.

If you hit the workout and not the bar,

you just won a battle.

A small battle but an important one nonetheless.

A battle against

against decline,
against setbacks.

Against your. own. weaknesses.

You are the only person who can win or lose that one.  It’s all on you, and only you will know (for the most part) which way it went today.  Other people can tell over the long term, but only you know day by day.

But today you were triumphant!

And now you KNOW you can win again.

Good work today, keep fighting for a better life
